Avenir Health is dedicated to enhancing social and economic development in the fields of HIV/AIDS, family planning and reproductive health, child survival and infectious diseases. PEPFAR, through USAID, has supported Project SOAR (Supporting Operational AIDS Research) to develop through Avenir Health the VMMC Site Capacity and Productivity assessment Tool (SCPT). As part of the suite of VMMC Data for Decision Making Tools, the SCPT focuses on the site level to bring important data to manage site performance, capacity, and quality service delivery. We are seeking a health specialist with strong quantitative skills to contribute to policy analysis and planning activities that support international donors and national programs in HIV, reproductive health and child survival. The ideal candidate will have experience in analysis of DHS data sets, simulation modeling and statistics. Responsibilities include contributing to project teams on activities including developing and applying simulation models, analyzing survey data, projections of future consequences, analysis of impact, cost and cost-effectiveness of programs. We are particularly interested in candidates who can conduct a variety of quantitative tasks, including computer modeling, simulation, and complex analyses. The position will require international travel and the ability to work well with developing country counterparts and support capacity building. Candidates should have a relevant post-graduate degree (PhD, MPH, etc.) or equivalent experience in international public health. Proficiency in a second language is a plus. The position is located in Glastonbury, CT, USA.
